China's First Digital CBM Field Demonstration Project Becomes Operational

Earlier this month, a CNPC developed digital coal bed methane field demonstration project, the first one of its kind in China, became operational in Qinshui Basin, Shanxi Province.
CNPC owns the mining right of an area of 5,646 square kilometers in the south part of Qinshui Basin, with 100 billion cubic meters of proved CBM in place. The demonstration project mainly includes a CBM processing facility with an annual capacity of 1 billion cubic meters and a CBM field capable to produce 600 million cubic meters a year.
Since the trail operation started on September 15, the CBM processing facility has cumulatively processed 20.45 million cubic meters of CBM, and is expected to deliver 850,000 cubic meters per day, or totally 65 million cubic meters at the end of this year.
