BG Group Invites the Energy Industry to Rise to the Fundraising Challenge

BG Group, the global natural gas business, has launched its annual team building and fundraising event, the BG Energy Challenge 2009 - UK. Corporate teams associated with the energy sector are invited to sign up. The unique event which puts team work to the test and raises vital funds for charity, will take place in Bangor, Wales, next summer from the 9 to 11 July.

As the global BG Energy Challenge Series moves into its 14th year, BG Group hopes to build on the £4.5 million raised for various charities worldwide to date. This year monies raised from the UK event will again be supporting two charities; CARE International, the overseas development agency which has benefited since the inaugural event in 1996 and children’s medical research charity Sparks, who benefit for the third successive year.

Staying at Bangor University and in the shadow of Snowdonia National Park, the stunning natural environment will provide the perfect backdrop for some high energy performances as teams undertake a series of exciting physical, intellectual and strategic challenges. Teamwork will be the key to successfully tackling the diverse challenges, which range from kayaking, orienteering and mountain biking to code breaking and complex construction.
