Alaska North Slope Areawide 2009 and Alaska North Slope Foothills Areawide 2009 Preliminary Oil and Gas Lease Sale Results

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources’ (ADNR) Division of Oil and Gas (DO&G), offered competitive oil and gas leasing in North Slope Areawide (NS) 2009 and North Slope Foothills Areawide (FH) 2009 Oil and Gas Lease Sales on 28 October 2009.
The sale areas were divided into tracts ranging in size from 640 to 5,760 acres. NS had 1,225 tracts, and FH had 1,347 tracts, offered. NS lies between the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) and the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska (NPRA). The southern boundary of the NS sale area is the Umiat baseline. FH lies between the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska, south of the Umiat Baseline to the Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve.

Source: PetroView® The preliminary report of this sale indicated that a total of 80 tracts (totalling 319,360 acres) were awarded out of 93 valid bids. The highest bid was USD547,257.60 on tract 455 which was submitted by 70 & 148, LLC. The total of high bonus bids was USD8,536,518.40.
