ATI Petroleum Names Joseph A. Wagda Advisor to Executive Team

ATI Petroleum, the petroleum exploration management and operations company, announced today that Joseph A. Wagda has been engaged as an advisor to the executive team. Formerly a senior managing director with the Price Waterhouse corporate finance practice, Mr. Wagda brings more than 10 years of business experience in global oil and gas exploration and production activities, including prior membership on the board of directors of Abraxas Petroleum Corp. (Nasdaq: AXAS), an international E&P company. He also held management responsibilities with Chevron Overseas Petroleum Inc.’s finance staff, where he was involved with developing countries, including West Africa, China, Brazil, Colombia and Australia, and was co chair of the international oil & gas finance conference held in Beijing and Guangzhou.

“I am intrigued by ATI Petroleum’s prospects, and believe my experience in this industry can help ATI Petroleum define a clear course for it to utilize its strengths to maximize shareholder value,” said Wagda upon his engagement.

Wagda joins ATI Petroleum having spent over seven years in CEO and COO positions at public and private manufacturing and business services companies. Upon becoming CEO in 2000 (and later chairman of the board) of BrightStar Information Technology Group, then a $50 million Nasdaq-listed company, Wagda raised the structured-equity funding that enabled the company to weather the subsequent deflation of the technology bubble. Additional past board-of-directors positions held by him include: American Heritage Group, Inc. and Zierer Visa Service, Inc.
