Sonatrach was organized in 1963 for the purpose of developing Algeria’s natural resources in order to meet Algeria's energy demands and to strengthen the country's economy through increased exports. Sonatrach is headquartered in Algiers, Algeria, and is part of the Sonatrach International Petroleum Group. Sonatrach has 30 years of experience in oil and gas field exploration and development.
