Description
Roc Oil Company Limited was formed in late 1996. The company acquired the UK assets of Morrison Middlefield Resources Limited (MMRL), including the onshore Saltfleetby gas field which ROC has gone on to successfully develop. The UK assets now form the core cash generating assets of the company.
ROC has assembled an international exploration and production portfolio which reflects the Company's core strategy whereby assets are acquired that have been generally undervalued or overlooked. The main areas where ROC believes it can identify appropriate opportunities and add value are West Africa, the Middle East and selected parts of Asia-Pacific and in it's niche areas in the UK and Australia.
ROC is the operator of acreage in onshore UK, offshore Australia and Senegal and is the Technical Manager in acreage in Equatorial Guinea and has recently acquired an interest onshore Cabinda (Angola). ROC also holds minority interests, ranging from 2 - 5%, in all eight currently licensed blocks offshore Mauritania, included including the recent oil discovery at Chinguetti-1.
New Venture opportunities worldwide are considered on a case-by-case basis, however, ROC believes that it's core focus should remain West Africa, the Middle East and selected parts of Asia-Pacific in addition to the UK and Australia.
