New Zealand Oil & Gas Limited is an independent company listed on the New Zealand and Australian stock exchanges. Most of NZOG's 12,000 shareholders are individual investors.
The company's focus is exploration for gas onshore (Mangatoa, Tuihu, Ngatoro Deep) and oil in the offshore (Tui, Pukeko, Hector and Ray).
Revenues from the Ngatoro oilfield provide the company with funds for exploration. Enhancement of Ngatoro production rates and reserves is being pursued to further increase cash flows.
NZOG is pursuing the development of an export-based coking coal mine through 72% owned subsidiary Pike River Coal Company Ltd.
NZOG's other major untapped reserves are in the Kupe Field. The outlook for developing Kupe in the short term is now positive.
