Kosmos Energy’s Mahogany-1 exploration well discovered the Jubilee Field in Ghana’s deep waters, one of the largest oil discoveries worldwide in 2007 and the biggest find offshore West Africa during the last decade. Subsequently, the company has made several additional oil discoveries in Ghana. Kosmos and its partners developed the Jubilee Field on an accelerated schedule, delivering first oil production on November 28, 2010. Kosmos expects to achieve Jubilee Field Phase 1 production at a rate of 120,000 barrels of oil per day at year-end 2011.

The oil discoveries to date embody the vision of the Kosmos founders: build a sizable, highly valuable, and enduring oil and gas exploration and production enterprise through organic growth.

In addition to Ghana, Kosmos’ asset base includes licenses onshore Cameroon and offshore Morocco. The company continues to target oil plays in frontier and emerging basins, as well as established provinces.

Kosmos Energy is well known by government officials, business leaders and peers for its advanced scientific, operational, development and commercial experience in Africa. The management team possesses the leadership capabilities and technical expertise to generate and participate in significant exploration and production projects, particularly in deep waters.
