Hilcorp Energy is a privately held Texas corporation formed in 1989 for the purpose of acquiring and exploiting producing oil and gas properties. The Company has generally sought to acquire properties deemed non-strategic by large oil and gas companies yet still possessing significant profit and upside potential. Hilcorp Energy also owns gas processing and gas gathering facilities.
Hilcorp Energy's producing properties are concentrated in the Gulf Coast areas of Texas and Louisiana. The Company has historically targeted mature producing fields for its acquisition efforts. The properties acquired by the Company typically have sizeable cumulative production histories and offer long-lived producing capabilities. These properties commonly have multiple pay zones and are readily enhanceable through drilling, workovers and/or surface facility modifications.
