As the driver of Energen's long-term growth, Energen Resources Corporation focuses on increasing its production and proved reserves by purchasing and developing onshore North American oil and gas properties.
Over the last 10 years, Energen Resources has invested $1.7 billion in property acquisitions and development for which it has gained 2.2 trillion cubic feet equivalent (Tcfe) of proved natural gas, oil and natural gas liquids reserves. Energen Resources is prepared to invest approximately $1 billion in property acquisitions alone over the next five years.
Energen Resources' production has grown from less than 10 billion cubic feet equivalent (Bcfe) in September 1995 to more than 87 Bcfe today, with cumulative production over the last 10 years of approximately 600 Bcfe.
The Company's major areas of operation are in the San Juan Basin of New Mexico, the Permian Basin in west Texas and the Black Warrior Basin in Alabama. With proved reserves of approximately 1.6 Tcfe, Energen Resources today is one of the top 20 independent exploration and production companies in the nation on the basis of U.S. reserves.
