Dune Energy, Inc. was formed to take advantage of opportunities within the US energy sector. Dune Energy is an aggressive rapidly growing oil and gas exploration and production company with operations presently concentrated in Texas.
In May 2004, Itera Holdings BV, part of the Itera International Group of Companies, made a $12 million equity investment in Dune. About the same time, Dune became a publicly traded entity.
Itera, based in Moscow, is one of the largest natural gas producers in Russia, the Baltics and CIS, and operates in 24 countries.
