Cairn Energy is one of Europe's largest independent oil and gas exploration and production companies. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and based in Edinburgh.
Cairn's business is divided into two key units: one focused on developing the Rajasthan resource base in India; the other on exploring frontier basins in Greenland.
Cairn India
Cairn holds a 62.37% interest in Cairn India - which is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange of India. Cairn India has interests in 13 blocks in India and Sri Lanka.

Capricorn
Capricorn, a non-listed subsidiary, is exploration-led with a strategy of organic growth and value-enhancing acquisition. Capricorn's core assets are in Greenland and the Mediterranean.
