CEPSA is a leader in activities relating to petroleum and petrochemistry, including exploration, production of crude, refining, transport and marketing of petroleum derivatives, and the manufacture of added-value petrochemical products, such as plastics, synthetic fibres, and detergents.

Exploration and production
Exploration and production activity is centred principally in Algeria. In the eastern region of the Algerian Sahara, CEPSA operates a parcel, referred to as block 406A, under the system of production-sharing contract with the Algerian National Oil Company, Sonatrach. Two oil fields have been discovered on this block, RKF and Ourhoud.
