The company's UK subsidiary, Alkane Biogas Limited (ABL) is the former Farmatic Biotech Energy UK, prime contractor for the country's first large scale anaerobic digestion plant at Holsworthy in Devon. Using the expertise in this technology gained from the acquisition, ABL is developing its first biogas to electricity plant. The plant will generate renewable electricity from cattle slurry, food and other organic waste streams while also pasteurising the feedstock and producing bio-fertiliser.
