In 2008, Dana Gas plans to invest more than $500 million into exploration projects in Egypt, northern Iraq and the United Arab Emirates.

The company is moving forward with plans to expand its drilling programme in Egypt, while its $650 million integrated gas joint venture with fellow Gulf player Crescent Petroleum in Iraq’s Kurdistan region is being fast-tracked for first production by the middle of this year.

Dana is also planning exploration and production on a 100-square-kilometre block of its home state of Sharjah, including the development of the Zora gas field.

The company is also preparing to start up processing and supply infrastructure for its imported gas flows in Sharjah.
